How Do I Make a Phone Call Using 1CC?
The following is an example of one of about 6 ways to connect yourself to the world using 1CC.
In order to transport phone calls over
the internet your voice needs to be converted into VoIP format. In this example we convert your favourite analog telephone into a VoIP phone using an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter)
Simply plug
it into your computer network and, after entering a few details about your 1CC account (like setting up your email on a new PC) you'll be making cheap calls in minutes.
The money you save on phone calls will often pay for the ATA in just a few weeks!
How Can One Click Contact Replace my HOME Phone?
1 - Connect an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) to your LAN (network router)
2 - Connect an Analog Telephone (wired handset or cordless base station) to the Adapter
3 - Connect your regular phone line to the adapter (to receive regular telco calls)
4 - Start making cheap (or totally FREE) phone calls over the Internet

The One Click Webphone ALSO allows you to connect with the 1CC member in up to 10 different ways
2
Softphones
A Softphone is short for Software Telephone. It is a program
that runs on your computer to allow you to make or receive
telephone calls (and sometime video calls). Some Softphones
just initiate calls while others can receive calls as well.
Additional features include video calling, call recording
(including video) and presence (who's available).
3
USB Handsets or Headsets
Connects to your computer's USB port. Microphone and
Headphones (or analog headset) connects to your microphone
and headphone sockets. Notebook users can also use the inbuilt
microphone and loudspeaker. A Softphone must be running
on your computer for you to make and/ or receive calls.
4
ATA (Analog Telephone
Adapter)
Converts your current phone output to a signal compatible
with your LAN (Local Area Network) Some have a legacy connection
to the PSTN allowing you to continue to make and receive "regular"
calls and others have additional LAN ports (for connecting
your computer or other devices)
5
Digital SIP Telephones
Effectively an analog telephone and ATA in one device, but
with all the features you'd want in a business telephone.
They connect directly to your LAN (network). If you do NOT
have a router then you will need to get one. Many SIP phones
have an additional LAN port for connecting your computer or
another device on your desk. Some high end phones also have
the ability to answer your old (legacy) telephone calls from
the PSTN.
6
1CC Phonecard

or hardware... just like a phone card, but that is really an additional convenience for travelers who need to quickly make a phone call or people without the internet.
